General Information
One of the great things about Mount Pleasant is
that most often you do not need to bring a partner to play (now this is not guaranteed
but it is often the case). It is normally fairly easy to find someone to “hit
with”. Our Club strives to be friendly and welcoming to all so that anyone
having difficulty finding a partner should ask the duty officer to assist.
We value highly skilled tennis play of course.
But beginners are welcome and are encouraged to participate as much as anyone else.
Skill levels increase with practice and in a season or two the beginner likely will
have developed a very good level of play. We want to get outdoor exercise,
to meet others interested in tennis and mainly to have fun playing the game!
Beginners, intermediates, and highly skilled players are all welcome!
At many times during the week,
the Club is not that busy and courts are readily available ,
so members and guests may play for as long as they wish without interruption.
At other times, weekends in particular, the courts can become quite busy.
Then there is a rotation system in effect. Players sign up on the chalk board on the deck (near the centre gate)
for 30 minutes for doubles play and for 20 minutes for singles play.
This system works well and during busy times no one is left sitting for long.
During very busy times the duty officer may ask Members and guests to play doubles
only to ensure more people have access to the courts.
Please drop by our Club, have a look around, ask
the duty officer or any member if you have questions. Try a set or two of
tennis at Mount Pleasant and we bet you will be back to join us for more!
